Set in a post-apocalyptic Pan-African coalition, various factions scramble to harness the innate power of the “aspect”- the physical manifestation of one's soul- to defend against the beasts that populate the wastelands. These fractal beings, known colloquially as anomalies, manifest by improperly wielded aspect bursts that spread through their bearers akin to disease. With the passing of their village head Bayowa, the shoals of the Layeni faction teem with the fallen, posing a growing threat with each passing day. The eldest son Akinyemi must embark on his birthright journey from his home into the central coalition to learn to properly manifest his aspect.
